Ben is a multiple "Group Winner" and was ranked as the #5 Ridgeback (AKC breed points) in the United States in 2007. His conformational excellence is matched with a stable and loving temperament. These traits were carried forward in two earlier litters Ben produced with Sengei's Skye of Tam Lyn, with one champion and one pointed dog already resulting from the first litter. Skye is a genetic sibling to Madison, and is one reason we have high expectations for the pups that will result from the recent breeding with Ben. More information about Ben can be found at: www.sengei.com:.
Madison is a medium wheaton female who, like Ben, possesses both sound conformation and a loving temperament. Keenly intelligent, Madison started showing only this past year and quickly "pointed out" (including one Best of Breed win). She requires only one more "major" win to complete her championship. Note that Madison is N/N and does not carry the recessive gene that is responsible for degenerative myelopathy - a progressive debilitating neurological disorder that strikes dogs late in life. Since Madison does not carry the DM gene, none of the pups she produces will be at risk for this disease. DM genetic test results on Ben have just been completed and indicate he is N/A (a carrier), meaning that half of the pups should be N/N and half N/A..

2009 LITTER
After careful consideration we bred Tam Lyn's Golden Dawn (Madison) to Ch. Sengei's Timekeeper (Ben). After evaluating different stud dogs we concluded that Ben's structure was an ideal match for Madison to maintain the structure, density of bone, athleticism and fluidity of movement that are the goals of our breeding program. We also anticipate the breeding to produce dogs that are self-assured, stable and intelligent - important assets for either a show dog or a family companion. The pups arrived on Feb. 22, 2009 - 11 pups in all (eight males and three females), all ridged and in good health. Details on the sire and dam are below. See the bottom of this page for button links to pictorial updates of the pups as they develop over the next eight weeks.
